Grandma & Grandpa arrive, and the whole family is together again after 3 years

Grandma & Grandpa arrive at the airport to be greeted by all the
grandkids in their "all red" shirts.  It made everyone who got off their
plane at the airport smile to see all the cute kids waiting.

Allred boys like to wrestle.... still.  And now the 2nd generation boys want to participate.  Hope no one gets hurt.

The sweet babies- Ava, Finn, and Damon.

The cousins spent the entire day in the woods building a "fort."

When night came, they insisted on going back to the fort
to "check on it."

Who can scream louder??

Payton "posing" on the 4-wheeler.

Gag gifts for Grandpa and Grandma.

Cuddlin' cousins.

The babies watch "Baby Einstein" together.  Damon is pretty
impressed with this DVD stuff that he has never seen before.

Out for some exercise in the beautiful Colorado mountains.

While the Allred girls went shopping and eating-
The Cheesecake Factory for lunch.

Working (and playing) while getting ready for Grandma & Grandpa to arrive

Cousins mesmerized by "The Chipmunks."

The kids (of all ages) love the 4-wheelers.

No, this isn't dangerous at all....

Cutie on the swing....

The most exciting find of the day- a great big stick!!

More pictures from the "Creative Fun for Safe and
Responsible Fathers" manuel.

They did put the helmets on.... afterward.

McD's

The kids were really looking forward to McDonald's after being without for the 6 months.  We ate lunch there the day we flew into Denver, and then lunch there again at the Puerto Rico Airport the day we flew home.

The Story of the Allred's and the Three Seasons

Once upon a time, there was a little family of Allred's.  They went for a vacation in the States.  They first arrived upon a house in Colorado. They were not used to the weather.  "This weather is too cold," they said.

Next, they flew to Texas for a visit with family and friends.  Although they were Texan's for the past eleven years, they were still annoyed with the weather that awaited them.  "This weather is too hot!" they exclaimed.

Then, at the end of their trip, when the family of Allred's arrived "home" to St. Kitts, they felt the warm breeze blowing in off the ocean, and they were pleasantly surprised.  "Ahhh, this weather is just right," they said happily, and right away they headed out to the pool for a swim.

Just then, the Allred's declared, "This is a great home for a time."  They screamed, "Hooray to be home and through flying!"  And the Allred youngsters jumped up and ran for joy. But, unlike The Story of Goldilocks and the Three Bears, the Allred's are sure to visit both Texas and Colorado and the people they love there, again.

Adios to Paula and Morgan

While we were on vacation, our friends, the Burt's, left to begin a new phase of life in the States.  It is a gradual process- Jordan and Tori left a while back to begin school in the States, and Paula and Morgan left just the other day.  Chad is still here but will be joining them when he is through with veterinary school.

The day before we flew out, Morgan spent the night and then we had one last snorkeling excursion.  (We had a very interesting snorkeling day actually, seeing many sting rays, and even at one time having one swim along the shoreline, just about 15 feet out from the shore.)  Hasta luego to Paula and Morgan.  St. Kitts just won't be the same!

We're back....

Sorry to keep you waiting on such interesting tidbits from the Allred's. We have been out of commission with our blog while on our vacation to the States.  With spending time with friends and family, late nights, long flights and cranky kids, being without Internet connections (and when we were somewhere that did have Internet, Adrian usually won out with the computer time), a dead battery on the laptop, and a power outage, we had absolutely no time to update our blog.  So come back soon, as we will be backtracking and posting all of our fun pictures from the last 2 1/2 weeks.

Not your everyday occurrence part II- AKA "The world is our toilet."

So this IS pretty much an everyday occurrence HERE.  You'll see men taking care of business on a wall or fence before going into the grocery store, while standing downtown waiting for their food, a taxi driver jumping out for a second while the people inside wait (this did happen to us on a ride up to a friend's wedding reception), etc.  I don't want to offend those of you native Kittitian friends of ours, but this is not an everyday occurrence where we come from (for at least 99.9% of the people I know- come to think of it I do know SOME people, including one family member, who will do this outside in their OWN backyard, OK, sometimes a friend's backyard, but you get the point).  This is just sick and wrong.  (Sorry for another interesting post, I guess our whole family is just obsessed with toilets these days.)
